To provide a wooden composite base material wherein the side surfaces of an indented groove or protruding line are made smooth when the indented groove and the protruding line are formed on the cross surface, in addition to the smoothness of the surface, and thus, an assembly with other member, such as a picture frame, can easily be performed under a stable posture, in the wooden composite basic material in which a wooden fiber board and a comparatively inexpensive conifer veneer are laminated.

In this wooden composite base material, the wooden fiber board 1 and the conifer veneer 2 are alternately bonded and laminated into a multi- layer shape. In such a wooden composite base material, the surface is formed of the wooden fiber board 1. Also, on the cross section surface 3, the indented groove 4 is formed in such a manner that at least one side surface 4a or 4b may be located in the laminated wooden fiber board 1.
