PURPOSE: To perform work centering and fixing operations automatically and in a short time on the basis of a hole provided in a work.
CONSTITUTION: A work centering and fixing device is made up of a work positioning transfer mechanism 3 in which a chuck 10 fitted and inserted in a hole of a work 50 to support the work, and which is movably installed on a machine-frame 1, a supporting mechanism 5 mounted on a table 4 so that it can freely rise and fall, in order to support the underside of the work 50 supported on a table provided on the machineframe 1 by the transfer mechanism 3 or on the table 4 installed on the floor adjacent to the machine-frame l, and a pressing mechanism 6 for pressing the upper face of the work 50 and holding and locking the work between the supporting mechanism 5 and itself.
