To provide a work roll shift rolling method by which such a problem is solved that reverse crown occurs and the thickness in width ends of a material to be rolled becomes too thin or too thick when the material to be rolled is rolled with a finishing mill or the like on the rolling line of a metal strip in a hot-rolling line or the like.
An evaluation function which is determined by the target value of work roll profile of a work roll 19 shift rolling mill and the predictive calculated value of the work roll profile are calculated for a plurality of evaluation points of the width ends of the material and totalized, and the totalized evaluation function is further totalized for all materials to be planned to be rolled by a rolling cycles. Roll shift position of a rolling order giving the minimum further totalized result is determined as the work roll shift position of the rolling order.
