PURPOSE: To prevent the erroneous recognition of a woven fabric by providing a destaticizer, air blower, woven fabric smoothing mechanism, re-wrinkling preventing mechanism, and fabric movement preventing mechanism.
CONSTITUTION: A woven fabric 1 is carried on rolls 11, 12, and 13 and an AC corona discharge type destaticizer 14 destaticizes the surface of the fabric 1 and extraneous matters adhering to the surface of the fabric 1 are blown away with compressed air from an air blower 16. Another AC corona discharge type destaticizer 15 destaticizes the rear surface of the fabric 1 and extraneous matters adhering to the rear surface are blown away by means of another air blower 17. A smoothing roll 21 smoothes the fabric 1 and a heat roll 22 performs heat setting so as to prevent the regeneration of wrinkles. A movement preventing plate 33 is positioned on an image pickup system 40 side of tangents to intermediate rolls 31 and 32 and the fabric 1 is carried along the plate 33 while the fabric 1 is brought into contact with the plate 33. Then the fabric 1 is irradiated with light from a lamp 42 and the image of reflected light from the fabric 1 is picked up with a line sensor camera 41. Since wrinkles and extraneous matters adhering to the fabric 1, such as dust, waste thread, etc., are removed, the defect detecting performance of this woven fabric inspection device can be improved.
