Abstract:

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent enormous increase in necessary data memory capacity while allowing the leaving of an image of higher quality of picture in a state where a biopsy needle reaches a plausible tumor part.
SOLUTION: During puncturing, a low tube current value is selected by a tube current changeover switch 13 while being done so as to keep an image data from being stored with a data memory switch 8. When a biopsy needle reaches a plausible tumor part, an operator leaves a canning chamber SR and then, a high tube current value is selected by the tube current changeover switch 13. Therefore, during the puncturing, the X-ray irradiation value is at a low value to allow lowering of X-ray exposure to the operator. No image data is stored hence requiring no enormous data memory capacity. When the biopsy needle reaches the plausible tumor part, the X-ray irradiation turns to a high value while a switching is made to store the image data thereby allowing leaving of an image of higher quality of picture.
