This yarn sheet abnormality detector 1 is characterized by comprising the first abnormality detector 10 disposed in the cross direction of the yarn sheet 2 to detect the abnormality of a traveling yarn 3, the second abnormality detector 20 disposed on at least one of the upstream and downstream sides of the yarn 3 of the yarn sheet 2 in the traveling direction and further disposed in the cross direction of the yarn sheet 2 at a prescribed cross angle to the first abnormality detector 10, and a position detector 4 for specifying an abnormal position in the cross direction of the yarn sheet 2 on the basis of a time between the abnormality detection signal-outputting time of the first abnormality detector 10 and the abnormality detection signal-outputting time of the second abnormality detector 20.
