Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a shock absorber and a metal cover mounted with the same, which curb generation of contact noise while stably maintaining excellent vibration control performance.SOLUTION: A shock absorber 10A comprises: a collar member 40 which has a cylindrical collar body 41 fixed to an exhaust manifold 3 with fixing bolts 50, and annular flanges 42 outwardly protruded from an upper and lower edges of the collar body 41; a compressed mesh 21 which is an annular shock absorbing material formed by twisting metal wire rods and arranged between the collar member 40 and an insulator base material 100 with an inner peripheral side thereof loosely fitted to the collar member 40; and a spiral spring 22 which is installed along with the compressed mesh 21 in a gap between the collar member 40 and the compressed mesh 21 and adapted to reduce relative displacement of the compressed mesh 21, as the shock absorbing material, with respect to the collar member 40.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 3
