Abstract:
To inhibit chips from accumulating in a housing and causing a trouble in action of a brake mechanism.SOLUTION: A chain saw 2 includes: a prime mover which rotates a saw chain; a brake mechanism 104 which stops rotation of the saw chain; a housing 4 having a first space, in which the prime mover is disposed, and a second space 92, in which a brake mechanism 104 is disposed, therein; and an operation member 100. The housing 4 has a through hole 98 which allows the second space 92 and the outside of the housing 4 to communicate with each other. The operation member 100 is disposed spanned between the second space 92 and the outside of the housing 4 through the through hole 98. The brake mechanism 104 includes a connection member 105 which moves in the second space 92 in conjunction with movement of the operation member 100. The housing 4 has an opening 94 that allows the first space and the second space 92 to communicate with each other and inhibits chips from accumulating in the second space 92.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 7
