Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve a problem that an over-revolution and an under-revolution of an engine may occur after the release of free run by an operation of a clutch lever by a driver during the free run for traveling by releasing a clutch, in a vehicle having a stepped transmission.SOLUTION: In the case that a clutch lever is operated in order to avoid an under-revolution at the release of free run if a gear change during free-run traveling is prohibited, a direction of a shift operation is predicted, a rotational speed of an engine after a shift is maintained within a range in which an abnormality of the engine does not occur by determining the continuation of the free run and the engagement of a clutch by the adaptability of a direction of the shift operation, and by spreading a free-run condition, fuel economy can be improved.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 4
