Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve the determination accuracy of a closing failure of an EGR valve, related to a control device of an internal combustion engine.SOLUTION: In an internal combustion engine 10 having an EGR passage 38 for connecting an intake passage 12 at a downstream side rather than a compressor 20a of a turbocharger 20 and an exhaust passage 14, an EGR valve 42 arranged in an EGR passage 38, and an air-fuel ratio sensor 34 attached to the exhaust passage 14 at a downstream side rather than a connection position of the EGR passage 38 with respect to the exhaust passage 14, when compressor downstream pressure (intake pressure) is higher than back pressure, the EGR valve 42 is fully closed. Furthermore, when a lean displacement frequency in the case that the compressor downstream pressure is higher than the back pressure is higher than a lean displacement frequency in the case that the compressor downstream pressure is not higher than the back pressure in a condition that target air-fuel ratios are equal, it is determined that a closing failure occurs in the EGR valve 42.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 4
