Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To execute creep travel motion control with high response and with high accuracy and to ensure durability of an input clutch, in the case when the clutch is provided in place of a torque converter. SOLUTION: To eliminate the existence of a low clutch capacity region not suitable for creep travel motion because of low control response of an electromagnetic input clutch used in place of the torque converter, the input clutch is preloaded by a coned disc spring and is kept in the condition to be able to transmit a pre-torque Tp even when the input clutch is deenergized to cause an electromagnetic force to be zero. The pre-torque Tp is set greater than a creep travel motion torque Te. To drive in the creep travel motion from t1 where N→D is selected to t2, a oil hydraulic forward clutch is slip engaged to be able to transmit the creep travel motion torque Tc with the electromagnetic clutch being remained deenergized. Since the input clutch and the forward clutch are arranged in series, the smaller of the creep travel motion torque Tc determined by an engagement force is inputted to a primary pulley, and the creep travel motion is made possible. Because the forward clutch is of the oil hydraulic type, high responsiveness and fine torque control called for the creep travel motion is made possible.
