Abstract:

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for treating organic wastewater by using an ion exchange membrane having sufficient ion exchange performance and durability, which can remove salts and organic substances contained in organic wastewater by electrodialysis treatment efficiently and stably for a long period of time.SOLUTION: There is provided a method for treating organic wastewater which comprises: a step of subjecting organic wastewater containing salts and organic substances to SS removing treatment; and a step of performing an electrodialysis treatment for organic wastewater after the SS removing treatment, wherein the electrodialysis treatment is carried out using an ion exchange membrane including a copolymer (P) comprising a vinyl alcohol-based polymer component (A), a vinylene-based polymer component (B) and a polymer component (C) having an ionic group as constituent components as a cation exchange membrane and/or an anion exchange membrane.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 3
