PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for treating a landfill leachate by using an ion exchange membrane having excellent ion exchange performance and dimensional stability, which can remove salts contained in a landfill leachate by electrodialysis treatment efficiently and stably for a long period of time and suppresses occurrence of slime due to proliferation of microorganisms in a concentration chamber of an electrodialyzer.SOLUTION: There is provided a method for treating a landfill leachate in which a landfill leachate including a salt is treated by an electrodialyzer in which a cation-exchange membrane and an anion-exchange membrane are alternately arranged between a cathode and an anode to obtain desalinized water and a salt concentrate, wherein an ion exchange membrane including a copolymer (P) comprising a vinyl alcohol-based polymer component (A), a vinylene-based polymer component (B) and a polymer component (C) having an ionic group as constituent components is used as the cation exchange membrane and/or the anion exchange membrane.SELECTED DRAWING: None
