Title:
THROW-AWAY END MILL AND TIP INSTALLATION STRUCTURE THEREOF
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JP3189726
Kind Code:
B2
Abstract:

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To attach and detach a tip without pulling a clamp screw out of a clamp hole by providing the tip with a notch for opening a through hole where the clamp screw is passed to the tip rear end surface, and loosening the clamp screw to weaken the clamping force applied to both side surfaces of the tip.
SOLUTION: A clamp screw 16 is loosened until the drum part 16b goes out of a through hole 17 of a tip 12. In such a condition, only the male screw part 16c of the clamp screw 16 reduced in diameter to be smaller than the width B of a notch 18 is passed through the through hole 17 of the tip 12, whereby while the male screw part 16c is let escape along the notch 18 formed extending from the through hole 17 to the tip rear end surface 12c, the tip 12 is detached from the end mill main body 1 to be replaced.
