Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an exhaust gas purification device using a NOx catalyst which adsorbs NOx exhausted from an engine right after started, to purify the NOx, where the device can purify the NOx in an appropriate manner to the deteriorating state of the NOx catalyst.SOLUTION: The exhaust gas purification device uses the NOx catalyst having a support formed of zeolite and Pd supported by the support for purifying NOx from exhaust gas. An ECU of the exhaust gas purification device acquires the catalyst temperature of the NOx catalyst (S2), estimates an integrated thermal load under stoichiometric or rich exhaust gas as one of parameters for specifying the deteriorating state of the NOx catalyst (S3), uses the estimated deteriorating state for setting a NOx purge starting temperature and a NOx purge finishing temperature (S4), and starts NOx purge control for the air-fuel ratio of the exhaust gas to be stoichiometric or rich according to the catalyst temperature exceeding a predetermined NOx purge starting temperature and then finishes the NOx purge control according to the catalyst temperature exceeding a predetermined NOx purge finishing temperature.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 5
