Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a gimbaled flexure for spherical flex joints.SOLUTION: There is provided a flexible joint assembly (86) for a joint between a first duct (82) and a second duct (84) for providing a flow of fluid, such as bleed air in an aviation implementation. The flexible joint (86) includes a bellows (112) supported by a mounting assembly having a first support (102) and a second support (104), each surrounding a portion of the bellows (112). A set of flexures (164) provided on a joint ring (110) of the joint assembly (86) can operably couple the first support (102) and the second support (104).SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
