Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To eliminate the need of a position change of a camshaft when mounting a movable valve mechanism in which a variable arm is interposed between a can and a roller arm, in place of a valve mechanism in which the variable arm is not interposed therebetween.SOLUTION: A second arm 40 of a variable arm is pivoted in a swingable manner by a support shaft 49. The support shaft 49 is positioned in such a manner that a second line segment L2 connecting a centerline O of a roller 54 of a roller arm 50 and a centerline c2 of the support shaft 49 becomes longer than a first line segment L1 connecting the centerline O of the roller 54 and a centerline c1 of a camshaft 29 in a side view at a base circle time and that an angle θ formed by the second line segment L2 with respect to a third line segment L3 connecting the centerline O of the roller 54 and a swing centerline c3 of the roller arm 50 becomes 60° to 120° at the side of the camshaft 29. The second arm 40 extends from the support shaft 49 to roll in the camshaft 29 in such a manner that a distal end 44 is located between a cam 20 and the roller 54.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 3
