Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve design characteristics of a handrail in which a coping is put across column supports in a tilted manner, by making coupled portions of the column supports and the coping noiseless.SOLUTION: The handrail comprises: one or more intermediate columns 3; a coping 5 which is attached to the intermediate columns 3 in a tilted manner; and a metal fitting 7 for coupling the intermediate column 3 and the coping 5 to each other. The metal fitting 7 includes: a metal fitting base 71 which has an intermediate column fixing part 73 to be fixed to the intermediate column 3 with a self-tapping screw 17 and a coping fixing part 74 to be fixed to the coping 5 with a flat countersunk head screw 18; and a metal fitting cover 72 to be fixed to the intermediate column 3 with the self-tapping screw 17 while covering the intermediate column fixing part 73 of the metal fitting base 71. The coping 5 includes: a coping body 51; and an inner peripheral surface cover 59 which is attached to the inner circumferential surface of the coping body 51 so as to cover the coping fixing part 74 of the metal fitting base 71 and the flat countersunk head screw 18.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 5
