Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method and an apparatus for producing hydrogen gas which can suppress a reduction in the recovery rate of hydrogen gas and shorten a startup time when repeating stopping and restarting of purification of hydrogen gas.SOLUTION: There is provided a method for producing hydrogen gas which produces high purity hydrogen gas from hydrogen gas and a hydrogen-rich gas containing impurity gas other than hydrogen by purification using an adsorption column, the method comprising: a step of purifying exhaust gas containing residual gas discharged from the adsorption column after stopping the purification of the hydrogen-rich gas until restarting the purification; and further a step of performing dehydrogenation reaction of an organic hydride by heating in the presence of a catalyst, wherein the hydrogen-rich gas preferably is gas discharged in the dehydrogenation reaction step. Further, there is provided an apparatus for producing hydrogen gas which has an adsorption column for residual gas for the purification of exhaust gas containing residual gas discharged from the adsorption column after the purification of a hydrogen-rich gas is stopped.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
