Abstract:
To reduce the amount of movement of a roller pair that correct a sheet position immediately before a transfer unit.SOLUTION: When an image forming apparatus conveys a sheet from a second correction unit to a transfer unit through a first correction unit and forms an image on the sheet, the apparatus causes the first correction unit to correct the position of the sheet to a first position to be aligned with an image transferred in the transfer unit and causes the second correction unit to correct the position of the sheet to a second position. The second position is a position offset from a predetermined reference position toward the opposite side of a direction in which the position of the sheet detected by first detection means is deviated with respect to the first position when a second roller pair is caused to move the sheet to the reference position.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 9
