Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent image quality from being reduced by reading a white background portion darker because of detection of glossiness.SOLUTION: An image reading device comprises: multiple light sources 12 and 13 which radiate lights in different directions; an image reading part 10 for obtaining multiple read images by reading a read target that is irradiated with lights in multiple directions; glossiness detection means 171 which executes glossiness detection processing for detecting the presence/absence of glossiness by comparing an average value of luminance values for each region obtained by dividing the read image into multiple regions with a threshold that is preset for each region; luminance correction means 173 for executing luminance correction on one read image in such a manner that a luminance value in a white background portion becomes a maximum value in a case where the absence of glossiness is discriminated, and executing luminance correction on multiple read images in such a manner that the luminance value in the white background portion becomes the maximum value in a case where the presence of glossiness is discriminated; and image combination means 15 for generating a corrected read image corresponding to the read target by combining a region in which it is predetermined that a change in image level caused by a regular reflection light is small, with the multiple read images on which the luminance correction has been executed.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 6
