Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image reading device that can correct skew of an optical scanning unit with a simple configuration and can be applied to a configuration where a DF contact glass is installed obliquely to the horizontal direction, and an image forming apparatus and an image transmission/reception apparatus having the same mounted therein.SOLUTION: There is provided an image reading device 4 comprising a housing 4a that forms a device body and an image reading mechanism that is movably stored inside the housing 4a, wherein the image reading mechanism includes a bracket that is movably provided inside the housing 4a and an optical scanning unit 47 that is movably supported by the bracket and scans a document in a main scanning direction. The housing 4a is provided on its inner wall with at least one or more projections 401 and 402 in contact with the optical scanning unit 47 when the document is read; at least one projection 402 of the projections is formed to be extendable and contractible in a sub scanning direction; the image reading mechanism further includes control means that controls extension and contraction in the sub scanning direction of the projection 402 formed to be extendable and contractible.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 9
