PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To achieve a photographing preparation operation instruction and a photographing instruction by a touch operation hardly causing camera shake and excelling in operability.SOLUTION: An imaging apparatus executes photographing preparation processing, according to the fact that a touch to a touch operation part is detected and executes recording processing, according to the fact that the release of the touch is detected, and cancels photographing preparation processing, when it is detected that the end of the touch operation part is touched, without releasing the touch, after the touch for executing photographing preparation processing is detected.
