Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a focus adjustment device which can realize suitable focus adjustment control.SOLUTION: A focus adjustment device comprises: an imaging part 22 to capture an image from optical systems 31, 32, 33 having a focus adjustment optical system and to output a picture signal corresponding to the captured image; first focus detection parts 222a, 222b to detect a focus state of the optical systems using phase difference during the image capturing by the imaging part; a second focus detection part 221 to detect the focus state of the optical systems by calculating an evaluation value about contrast of the image from the optical systems based on the picture signal output by the imaging part; a focus adjustment part 36 to drive the focus adjustment optical system 32 in an optical axis direction of the focus adjustment optical system to adjust the focus state of the optical systems; and a control part 21 to prohibit the drive of the focus adjustment optical system based on the detection result of the first focus detection parts until the drive of the focus adjustment optical system based on the detection result of the second focus detection part is completed.
