PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a lens device that can irradiate an object side with a luminous flux with an even and fixed angle distribution as an illumination light at proximity imaging with a small number of light sources and can easily obtain an illumination with an even light distribution, and to provide an image taking device having the lens device.SOLUTION: The lens device includes: an image taking optical system; a holder frame holding the image taking optical system; and an illuminating device mounted to the outer surface of the holder frame near an object, which emits light, the illuminating device having a plurality of light sources and a light guide member for making light from the light sources be reflected by an inner surface and be propagated, the light guide member being in the shape of a ring, having a light emitting surface, which emits light to the object side, and appropriately setting the distance DL between two of the light sources which are closest to each other, the inner diameter D of the light guide member, and the distance WD from the light guide member when the image taking system brings the nearest object into focus to the nearest object.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
