Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a laboratory sample distribution system and a laboratory automation system for identifying a sufficient portion of an identification tag of a sample container.SOLUTION: A laboratory sample distribution system 100 comprises: a number of sample container carriers 140 to carry one or more sample containers 145, where each of the sample container carriers comprises at least one magnetically active device 141; a transport plane 110 to support the sample container carriers 140; a rotating device 130 comprising a rotating drive 132 adapted to cause a rotational movement of a rotating surface 131 such that a number of electro-magnetic actuators 120 stationarily arranged below the transport plane 110 move the sample container carriers 140 on top of the transport plane 110 by applying a magnetic force to the sample container carriers 140; and a control device to drive the rotating drive 132 and the electro-magnetic actuators 120 such that a sample container carrier 140 moves on the rotating surface 131.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
