Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a lubricity improver for fuel oil that is low in cloud point and excellent in lubricity and a low sulfur fuel oil composition containing the same.SOLUTION: There is provided a lubricity improver for fuel oil containing aliphatic acid and a copolymer, the copolymer having a monomer represented by the formula (I) and a hydroxyl group-containing vinyl monomer as essential constitutional monomers and satisfying the following (I) to (III). (I) weight average molecular weight is 5,000 to 300,000. (II) solubility parameter is 8.8 to 11.0 (cal/cm). (III) crystallization initiation temperature (tb) by a differential scanning calorimeter is -15°C or less. Ris H or methyl, X is each independently C2 to 4 alkylene, n is an integer of 0 to 20, a (XO)part is random addition or a block addition and Ris C16 to 36 branched alkyl. There is also provided a low sulfur fuel oil composition containing the lubricity improver for fuel oil.SELECTED DRAWING: None
