Abstract:

To provide a luminescent organometallic compound having good luminous efficiency and emitting red or blue light and to provide a light-emitting element using the compound.

The luminescent organometallic compound is represented by general formula (1) (wherein, A and B denote each a cyclic structure; M denotes a metal atom; X denotes a heteroatom other than a carbon and a hydrogen; Y denotes at least one electron attracting group binding to the cyclic structure B; and p denotes a natural number) or general formula (2) (wherein, Lb denotes a unidentate ligand or a multidentate ligand; and q and r denote each a natural number).
