Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a technique to unify translation words in a synthetic translation sentence.SOLUTION: According to an embodiment of the present invention, a similar example original sentence similar to a translation object original sentence and its similar example translation sentence are retrieved from a storage device in which a translation example original sentence and a translation example translation sentence are stored in association with each other. Correspondence between a phrase in the retrieved similar example original sentence and a phrase in the similar example translation sentence is stored. A phrase which is a syntactic difference between the translation object original sentence and the similar example original sentence is determined. A translation word corresponding to the difference phrase is selected prior to other translation candidates for the determined difference phrase in the translation object original sentence. A translation sentence of the translation object original sentence is generated by replacing the phrase in the similar example translation sentence corresponding to the difference phrase in the similar example original sentence with the selected translation word, in the similar example translation sentence.
