PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide method for producing an amidealcohol compound, an intermediate of biotin, and a method for producing biotin using the intermediate.SOLUTION: A method for producing an amidealcohol compound includes reducing a compound represented by formula (1) with (i) NaAlH(OCHCHOCH)and then reducing it with borohydride metal salt or (ii) borohydride calcium. {R1 and R2 independently represent H or a protecting group of a ureylene group; R4 is an alkyl group, an aralkyl group or an aryl group; R5-R7 independently represent H, an alkyl group, an alkoxy group or a halogen atom.}SELECTED DRAWING: None
