Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To suppress the mixing of foreign matter when a liquid crystal polyester composition including liquid crystal polyester and the fatty acid ester of pentaerythritol is produced with an extruder.SOLUTION: Using an extruder 2 in which a vacuum vent 23 having a vent port part 32 is provided at a barrel 25D, a liquid crystal polyester composition including the fatty acid ester of pentaerythritol of 0.1 to 1 pts.mass in 100 pts.mass of liquid crystal polyester is produced. The vent port part 32 has a heater 33 for heating the vent port part 32, in a state where the vent port part 32 is heated to 250°C or more by the heater 33, the liquid crystal polyester and the fatty acid ester of the pentaerythritol are melted and kneaded at the inside of the barrel 25D. In this way, decomposed gas generated in accordance with the melting and kneading of the liquid crystal polyester and the fatty acid ester of the pentaerythritol is made hard to adhere to the inner wall of the vent port part 32.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 3
