PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a high water-absorbing rate of water absorbing resin at high efficiency.SOLUTION: Provided is a method for producing polyacrylic acid based water-absorbing resin powder comprising: a step where an acrylic acid based monomer water solution obtained by dissolving and/or dispersing a gas is obtained; a step where a part of the bubbles contained in the monomer water solution is de-foamed; a step where the monomer water solution containing bubbles is polymerized in the presence of a surfactant of 300 ppm or lower; and a step where the obtained water gel-shaped crosslinked polymer is fragmented upon the polymerization or after the polymerization; and a step where the fragmented water-containing gel-shaped crosslinked polymer is heated and dried, and also, the monomer water solution and an inert gas are mixed at the stirring Reynolds number of 10,000 or more.SELECTED DRAWING: None
