PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a manufacturing method for a rotor shaft, by which an inner shaft and an outer shaft can be joined with fewer processes while ensuring joining strength.SOLUTION: In a manufacturing method for a rotor shaft composed of an inner shaft and an outer shaft, the inner shaft is composed of a shaft part and an outer peripheral flange formed projecting outside from the outer peripheral surface of the shaft part. The outer shaft is composed of: a cylindrical part; an inner peripheral flange formed projecting inside from the inner peripheral surface of the cylindrical part; an inner shaft insertion hole formed in the center of the inner peripheral flange; and a thin wall part formed thinner than the other inner peripheral flange on the peripheral edge of the inner shaft insertion hole. The inner shaft and the outer shaft are rotated around the shaft center of the shaft part as a rotation center while the rear surface of the outer edge part of the outer peripheral flange is disposed in contact with the thin wall part. Also, the inner and the outer shaft are joined by gathering the material of the inner peripheral flange on the surface of the outer peripheral flange thick by plastically processing.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 12
