Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a battery system capable of determining a start time of equalization processing in order to perform equalization processing of battery cells while performing external charging of a battery.SOLUTION: A battery system 10 mounted on an electric vehicle and capable of charging with external power includes: a battery 12 constituted by serial connection of multiple battery cells BC1-n; equalization circuits 14 connected to the respective battery cells BC1-n; and a control device 16 for performing equalization processing of cell voltages of the respective battery cells BC1-n by controlling switching elements FET included in the respective equalization circuits 14. The control device 16 calculates an equalization time required till the completion of equalization processing for each battery cell on the basis of a current SOC of each battery cell and an equalization target SOC, and determines a start time of equalization processing so as to perform equalization processing together with charging with external power on the basis of a charging time of external power to the battery 12 and an equalization time.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
