Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method and system for cross engine debris avoidance.SOLUTION: A propulsion system (300; 400; 500; 600; 700; 800) for an aircraft (100) includes at least two propulsion engines (202, 212). Each propulsion engine (202, 212) rotates about a longitudinal rotational axis (206, 216), and a propulsive fan (204, 214) associated with each propulsion engine (202, 212) rotates in a plane (208, 218) perpendicular to the longitudinal rotational axis (206, 216). Each plane (208, 218) is spaced axially along a longitudinal axis (106) of the aircraft (100) and/or canted so as not to intersect any other plane (208, 218) associated with another propulsion engine (202, 212) and propulsive fan (204, 214).SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
