To reduce the weight of a rotor and fix field magnet elements with ease and accuracy, in an electric motor.

A rotor section 2 includes a shaft 21, a closed-end cylindrical magnet holder 22 installed at the shaft 21, multiple field magnet elements 23 installed on the outer circumferential surface of the magnet holder 22, and a magnet positioning member 24, that is installed outside the bottom of the magnet holder 22 and has multiple projections 241. In the rotor section 2, the magnet holder 22 is formed by pressing a metal plate, and its weight is thereby reduced. When the multiple field magnet elements 23 are installed on the magnet holder 22, by inserting the multiple projections 241 of the magnet positioning member 24, respectively into between the multiple field magnet elements 23, the field magnet elements 23 can be fixed readily and with accuracy.
