Abstract:
An n-type Mg-Sb-based room temperature thermoelectric material and a preparation method therefor. The chemical general formula of the thermoelectric material is Mg3+ δMnxSb2‑y‑zBiyAz, wherein A represents an oxygen family element such as S, Se or Te, -0.2≤δ≤0.3; x, y, and z represent atomic ratios, x=0.001-0.4, y=0-1.0, and z=0-0.2. The preparation method comprises: selecting elemental materials having a purity greater than or equal to 99% as raw materials according to the chemical general formula, proportioning and weighing the raw materials separately in argon atmosphere, then putting the raw materials in a ball mill, and adding stainless steel balls into the ball mill, thereby obtaining powder after the ball mill rotates at high speed; and weighing the powder separately and then putting same in a graphite mold, placing the mold in a high-temperature furnace, vacuumizing, performing sintering under the condition that the total pressure is less than 4Pa, and cooling to room temperature after the sintering. The thermoelectric material has higher room temperature thermoelectric figure of merit and better mechanical properties than conventional n-type bismuth telluride, and has low costs. The preparation method is easy to operate and low in costs, and the material prepared thereby has high controllability and good repeatability.
