PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To effectively establish compatibility between the tension rigidity and weight reduction of an automobile panel component.SOLUTION: A design method for an automobile panel component is characterized in that tension rigidity is increased in such a manner that the plate thickness of an area within a range of a region with the lowest tension rigidity and a region surrounding the region and having tension rigidity almost as low as that of the region, in the automobile panel component, is set greater than the plate thickness of a region except the area.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 3
