Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To make it possible to obtain the same inspection result without the dependency on an inspector's image discerning skill level even if density irregularities occur in a fluoroscopic image of a weld of a pipe.SOLUTION: A reference density profile is generated based on a reference fluoroscopic image generated by detecting a radiation projected from a radiation source onto a reference pipe with a radiation detection medium. A weld inspection density profile is generated based on a weld inspection fluoroscopic image generated by detecting a radiation projected from the radiation source onto an inspection target pipe with the radiation detection medium. Density correction information for correcting density irregularities in the weld inspection fluoroscopic image is calculated based on the reference density profile and the weld inspection density profile, and the density irregularities in the weld inspection fluoroscopic image are then corrected based on the density correction information. The weld inspection density profile is generated by performing curve approximation on changes in density values of the weld inspection fluoroscopic image.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 13
