Abstract:
To provide a portable band saw that is able to reduce weight while improving the strength of a frame.SOLUTION: A portable band saw comprises: a drive unit; an endless band saw blade rotatable by drive of the drive unit; a first saw wheel and a second saw wheel around which the belt saw blade is wound and that rotate together with the belt saw blade; a frame rotatably supporting the first saw wheel and the second saw wheel and covering one side surface, in a rotary shaft direction, of the belt saw blade; a cover that can be opened/closed with respect to the frame and covering the other side surface, in the rotary shaft direction, of the belt saw blade. The frame has an outer peripheral portion, which is a portion that does not include an outer peripheral side processing position of the belt saw blade, and is formed from lightweight metal. The cover is formed from a material low in density than the lightweight metal.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 9
