Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for preparing a cathodic electrodeposition coating composition which is excellent in coating stability, curability and coating film appearance and contains a bismuth compound.SOLUTION: A method for preparing a cathodic electrodeposition coating composition includes a step of mixing resin emulsion (i) and pigment dispersion paste (ii). The resin emulsion (i) contains an aminated resin (A) and a block isocyanate curing agent (B), and the pigment dispersion paste (ii) contains a bismuth mixture liquid (C) containing a bismuth compound (c1), an organic acid (c2) and a solvent, a pigment dispersion resin (D), a polyvalent acid (E), and a pigment (F). In the method, the cathodic electrodeposition coating composition is obtained by a bismuth mixture liquid (C) preparation step of mixing the bismuth compound (c1), the organic acid (c2) and the solvent to prepare the bismuth mixture liquid (C), and a pigment dispersion paste (ii) preparation step of mixing the obtained bismuth mixture liquid (C), the pigment dispersion resin (D) and the polyvalent acid (E) to prepare the bismuth dispersion liquid, and mixing the obtained bismuth dispersion liquid and the pigment (F) to prepare the pigment dispersion paste (ii).SELECTED DRAWING: None
