PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve operability by decreasing an input operation region.SOLUTION: A character input device includes a touch panel control part 22 that determines the number of inputs or an input position, and a display control part 25 that displays a character group key to which a group identification display corresponding to a character group currently selected is assigned, at a fixed position, and controls to switch over and display a group identification display assigned to a character group key in accordance with the number of inputs or an input position in a touch panel 1.
