Abstract:
In order to adsorb gold contained in metal sulfide ores on activated carbon with good efficiency, and to efficiently elute gold and silver adsorbed on the activated carbon, this method for eluting gold and silver is provided with: a step for heating and leaching gold from gold- and silver-containing metal sulfide ore in an acidic leaching solution by using an acidic leaching solution containing, as an anion, chloride ions and/or bromide ions, and containing, as a cation, copper and iron; a step for adsorbing at least the gold and silver in the acidic leaching solution on activated carbon; and a step for eluting the gold and silver by using a thiosulfate solution maintained at less than pH 7 from the activated carbon on which at least the gold and silver has been adsorbed.
