Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for recovering scandium capable of easily and efficiently recovering high-quality scandium from nickel oxide ore.SOLUTION: A method for recovering scandium includes leaching nickel oxide ore with sulfuric acid and passing the obtained leachate through an ion exchange resin, and then recovering scandium through a solvent extraction treatment. The solvent extraction treatment includes extracting thorium contained in a treated solution in an extractant by using an amine-based extractant as an extractant for solvent extraction, and separating the thorium from scandium remaining in the treated solution after extraction.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
