Abstract:
The present invention addresses the problem of providing: a method for modifying a slurry of coal and/or iron ore and thereby lowering the flowability of the sediment (i.e., the slurry) more easily; and a raw material manufacturing process which is improved by the modification. In order to resolve the problem, a slurry of coal and/or iron ore has been modified by adding a water-soluble polymeric compound to the slurry and mixing the resulting system. Further, a modified raw material has been manufactured through the modification. The water-soluble polymeric compound is preferably an anionic W/O emulsion polymer.
