Abstract:
The invention provides a refrigerator which is provided with a storage chamber divided from a refrigerating chamber and a freezing chamber and can cool the storage chamber at a proper time without being influenced by the cooling operation of the refrigerating chamber and the freezing chamber. The refrigerator is provided with: a heat-insulating box (2) having therein refrigeration temperature chambers (10, 12), freezing temperature chambers (16, 18), and a storage chamber; a first refrigeration cycle system having a first compressor (56), a first condenser (58), and one or more first coolers (52, 54), the first refrigeration cycle system generating cold air for cooling the refrigeration temperature chamber and the freezing temperature chamber; a second refrigeration cycle system having a second compressor (74), a second condenser (75), and a second cooler (72) for generating cold air for cooling the storage compartment; and a control unit (9) that controls the first compressor and thesecond compressor, the volume of the second compressor being smaller than the volume of the first compressor.
