Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To easily and inexpensively produce a good quality strip by using a long nozzle and a stopper in parallel to the perpendicular direction and regulating an overlapping part distance of the long nozzle and the stopper projecting part and the opening hole area of the long nozzle in specified ranges.
SOLUTION: The molten alloy 6 in a ladle 3 is supplied into a tundish 5 through the long nozzle 2 by raising the ladle stopper 1. The stopper 1 has the projecting part 1A at the tip part. The overlapping distance of the long nozzle 2 and the stopper projecting part 1A is made to 0.1-200mm and the opening hole area of the long nozzle 2 is made to 0.5-10cm2. The molten alloy 6 is supplied into the tundish 5 from the ladle 3 so as not to bring the inner wall surface at the upper part of the long nozzle 2 into contact with the outer wall surface of the projecting part 1A of the stopper 1. At that time, the molten alloy 6 is injected onto a cooling roll 8 rotated at a high speed by raising a tundish stopper 4 to produce the strip 7.
