Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a river information system and a detection method with which it is possible to predict the occurrence of a localized heavy rainfall.SOLUTION: A river information system according to an embodiment of the invention has a measurement information acquisition unit, a weather information acquisition unit, an image information acquisition unit, and a cumulonimbus cloud detection unit. The measurement information acquisition unit acquires measurement information relating to a river from a plurality of observation points of the river. The weather information acquisition unit acquires weather information in the vicinity of the plurality of observation points. The image information acquisition unit acquires image information in which the skies at the plurality of observation points are photographed. The cumulonimbus cloud detection unit detects the symptom of approach of a cumulonimbus cloud at an observation point on the basis of the measurement information acquired by the measurement information acquisition unit, the weather information acquired by the weather information acquisition unit, and the image information acquired by the image information acquisition unit.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 3
