Abstract:
To provide a rotary damper which can seal a clearance formed between a lid and a housing with an O-ring and can avoid contact of a housing with an obstacle even when a distance between the obstacle and a center axis of a rotor is short over an entire length of the housing.SOLUTION: A rotary damper of the present invention comprises: a housing (10); an oil chamber (20) formed in the housing (10); oil to be injected into the oil chamber (20); a lid (30) for blocking an opening in the oil chamber (20); an O-ring (40) for sealing a clearance which is formed between the lid (30) and the housing (10); an O-ring groove (50) in which the O-ring (40) is arranged; and a rotor (60) having a vane (61) which is arranged in the oil chamber (20). A center axis (CA) of the rotor (60) is set at a position different from a center (C) of the O-ring groove (50).SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
