Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a rotary damper which can forcibly brake a device by creating torque which can buffer a device operation even if a rotational speed of a shaft or a housing abruptly becomes high, and a brake device using the same.SOLUTION: A friction resistance member 52a is arranged at a disc-shaped part 14a being one of opposing faces of a first torque generation member 14 and a second torque generation member 44 which oppose each other in an axial direction so as not to slide by a connecting part 52b. Irregularities on which the friction resistance member 52a abuts are formed at a protruded end face of a protruded plate 46 being the other opposing face. When a rotational speed of a shaft 6 abruptly becomes high, the friction resistance member 52a and the irregularities are pressed against each other. Therefore, when the second torque generation member 44 and the first torque generation member 14 relatively rotate, the friction resistance member 52a is elastically deformed, bites in the irregularities, and creates large torque.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 2
